The mission of the college is to cater to state-of-the-art medical education as well as medical care. The institute operates under the Ministry of Health Care and Family Welfare and was established by the honorable Prime Minister Late Mr. Atal Bihari Bajpayee. The institute is spread across 100 acres on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar in a town called Sijua. The institute offers eight specialization degrees, which are: MBBS, B. Sc (Nursing), B.Sc.
