NEET 2021 Dress Code for Male and Female by NTA
Medical aspirants appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on September 12, 2021, will be required to follow a specific dress code laid down by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NEET 2021 dress code has been prescribed by the authorities in the official information brochure. NTA has also released NEET 2021 admit card at neet.nta.nic.in along with the exam day guidelines.

Dress Code for NEET 2021
- Light clothes with long sleeves are not permitted. However, in case the candidates come in cultural/ customary dress at the examination centre, they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time, that is, 12:30 pm.
- Candidates are not allowed to wear shoes. Slippers and sandals with low heels are permitted.
- In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of the NTA must be taken before the admit cards are issued
NEET 2021 dress code for male candidates
As per the COVID 19 safety guidelines, candidates must wear a mask and gloves.
As per the NEET dress code, male candidates should ensure that they wear half sleeve shirts/T-shirts as full sleeve shirts are not allowed on the day of the examination.
Clothes worn by male candidates should be light i.e zip pockets, pockets, big buttons and clothes with elaborate embroidery should not be there.
Trousers and simple pants are a preferred NEET dress code 2021 for male candidates. Kurta pajama is not allowed.
Shoes are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. It is advisable that candidates wear sandals and chappal with a thin sole.
NEET dress code for female 2021
Female candidates must also wear a mask and gloves as per COVID 19 safety guidelines set by the authority.
Female candidates are advised not to wear clothes that have elaborate embroidery, flowers, brooches, or buttons as this is prohibited in the NEET dress code for female 2021 specified by NTA.
No clothes with full arm length sleeves should be worn on the day of examination. Following the dress code of NEET 2021, female candidates should wear half sleeve clothes.
Jeans with big pockets and fashionable will generally not be allowed for females as per the NTA NEET dress code. So, female aspirants, are advised to avoid wearing jeans on NEET 2021 exam day.
Leggings are not allowed in NEET 2021
It is best to avoid high heels and thick sole shoes and instead opt for sandals or slippers. Low heel footwear is also allowed.
Female candidates must avoid wearing any kind of jewelry like earrings, nose rings, rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelet or anklets. Metal detectors may cause an unnecessary hassle if the metal is found on the person.
NEET Dress Code 2021 exceptions
Candidates who cannot follow the dress code for NEET 2021 due to religious beliefs have to mention the same while filling the application form for NEET 2021. These candidates have to select the 'Customary Dress' option while filling the Neet Application Form. Those opting to wear the customary dress have to report at least an hour early for proper frisking and security procedures. In such cases, candidates need to reach the exam centre at 12.30 pm so that there is sufficient time for proper security checks without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the exam.
